Epson Perfection 1650 Photo in Windows XP

I have to re-install the driver every time I reboot into windows. I am not sure why this happens, buit it works fine after I re-install the driver. Has anyone else had this problem?

You may have to update the ASPI driver for WinXP so that it can correctly
identify the scanner.

I have your scanner's big brother - the 2450 Photo, and it has a USB 2.0 connection that works really. Never had a problem with the driver in XP. It uses an Epson driver dated 12/5/01 - version 5.5.4.

It was tricky to install. It was one of those where you first had to install the software/scanware - then reboot. Then hot plug the scanner and it worked AOK. It can also connect by Firewire. Either one works.
