EPSON "Date and time set to default. Reset?"

My EPSON WorkForce 645 multifunction always says "Date and time set to default. Reset?" when I power it on. The choices are "Yes" after which it prompts you manually set the date/time, or "No" after which it just continues booting up.

It will not retain the date/time that is entered. Power cycle clears it.

Do these things have clock batteries that can be replaced?

It's been a while since you posted this question so I expect you've moved beyond the problem by now. But if you haven't, I was seeing this behavior on my WorkForce 645 as well. The fix is to set the date/time then (in a different command menu) set the daylight savings (winter/summer). After reboot the time/date is retained.
