Epson 870 vs 980

Now that Epson has stated that there is going to be no complete fix for the orange shift for the 870/1270 printers I am considering the 980 since it is

1. cheaper
2. can use other inks and papers

It has a higher resolution than the 870 but is only four color.

Does anyone have an opinion?
 
I have an 870 and love it, but the orange shift problem worries me though I have never experienced it yet. I heard Epson might be recalling their 870/1270 printers for a full refund. If they do I'm looking to get the Canon 8200. It's the next best thing to the 870 and Canon recently dropped the price to be competitive with the Epson. The print quality is very close if not better to the 870/1270.
 
Looking at the 980 it is a good printer,

I would never change from Epson at the moment, so that seams a good bet for me at least, if i get a new printer,
 
Straight this 980 ROCKS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I got it last week and it is truly the most impressive (affordable) printer I have ever had.

I paid $249 - $40 off coupon at staples - $50 rebate from staples.

Well worth the $160 i spent, WELL WORTH IT!!

And dam its fast!
