Epson 1280: How can i bypass the no black ink which shuts down printer?

Hi all,

I have a epson 1280

I tired of paying for ink when i have other cartridge with ink.

My printer won't print because i ran out of black ink ,but i have almost a full color cartridge.

I don't have money for black ink right now but i do need to print!!!!!

Is there a way i can bypass this crap and print with the color only cartridge?

Anyway to hack this or mod?

With my old Epson Stylus Photo 750, I could "fool" the printer by taking out the empty cartridge and reinstalling it, thus making it think it was full again.

That printer was more than four years old though, so I suspect you wouldn't be able to do that anymore (improved/actual ink level sensors, maybe).
