Sorry coupon codes aren't allowed here. Just say you need a 20 off 75.

This is VERY risky as the C84 is not a photo printer.

I've printed photos with it and they came out very nice.
it's pretty difficult to tell if printed on photo paper.

There was a big debate about this over at FW and the CSRs today apparently said that the C84 has been added as a qualifying model but I'm with you on this still being shaky so...

I ordered the HP Photosmart 7260 944848 instead. Qualifies for the $50 rebate, price is $98.55 less $20 instant savings less $20 coupon less $50 rebate = $8.55 plus tax, and I found another rebate here for $20 on the 7260. If I get both total price will be $7.06 in my pocket.

Office Depot itself links to the $50 rebate from the Epson C84 product page. Its not like some of the 'hot deal forum' posts where some anonymous person links to a rebate form and tells people it is good for this or that. This one is offered by Office Depot as available with the C84.

The only things that would not make the C84 a photo printer is that it has 4 individual ink tanks instead of six and that Epson has a separate line of photo-centric printers. The specs on the C84 are almost identical to Epson's R200 (minus two ink tanks).

went to OD B&M and the guy showed me a list of printers that qualify for the rebate as "photo" printers. The C84 is NOT one of them.

somewhat of a repost as this printer was mentioned within the original post about the $50 rebate at OD. I have been thinking about picking this printer up with this deal, but vraiden's comment about it not being on the list, makes this to risky for me.

And then denied by an office depot online CSR in one of the threads. Always takes a while for everyone at a big company to be on the same page. Signs point to it being valid.

It's only confirmed when (and if) the check clears. Until then, it's a BIG risk.

But aren't the ink costs for HPs absolutely insane? Canon being the cheapest, then is Epson next in line?

Not nearly as bad as Lexmark. $16.95 for the black HP 56 at Sam's and then you refill them.

Hmm.....

A couple days ago, I clicked on "Rebate Savings!" icon directly below the Epson C84 image on Office Depot's Epson C84 catalog page, it showed the $50 Photo Printer rebate as among those available with this SKU. It was the first listed.

A few minutes ago, I went back to Office Depot's online catalog, clicked on the same "Rebate Savings!" icon below the Epson C84 image and the $50 Photo Printer rebate is no longer there.

I already ordered the C84 online on Sunday for home delivery. If the rebate isn't valid on this printer, I guess I'll have to return it and order the i560.

So how are we going to find out if they are honoring it or not? besides sending it in and waiting 3 months...

i called the express group, the company that handles fulfillment for OD. they said that they would honor it. in fact the lady pre-authorized my rebate because i told her that it was sketchy. so i guess it's good.

i also called OD a few times. 2 ladies said no, 1 said yes. but the fulfillment house is the real key.

I was at OD picking up a desk today and they had a stack of 10 c84's in the front with a huge -$70 in rebates sticker. CSR said it printed with a $50 and $20 rebate.

I got my girlfriend to get in on this deal. If she gets refused on the $50 rebate then I'll be out $50 cash with an apology. OD better not screw this up for me

The website is showing low availability with the "Order 0 now and backorder 1 for future delivery" option...would it still be valid if I did a backorder?

OOS...
Anyway, the $50 rebate was not for printer, it was for purchase of a "printer + digital camera"
