It's raining here! 🙁

Where are you at?

NY 🙂

Cool! I love NY! It should be snowing there but I know it is pretty warm there or was before the cold front csme through or will soon.

I am in Louisiana where Hurricane Katrina hit where hardly anything is open. Its pretty amazing how many things are still closed. Hard to find something that is open sometimes.

Do you think the government should allow Louisiana to improve the leeves to Cat. 5 stength? I know water is very powerful and if its powerful enough nothing can get in its way really.

Katrina makes me 🙁

As for improving the leeves to Cat. 5 strength, no.

What do you think would of happen if Hurricane Katrina would of been as latge as Typhoon Tip and as powerful ?

I never knew about Tip till now, but after reading the link you provided, it would have been the end of the American SE IMO!

Yep 🙁

I have a feeling one day there may be another Typhoon like Typhoon Tip but this time on this side of the world so instead a Hurricane.

Could you imagine a hurricane on this side of the world so powerful and huge ?

How high do you think the storm surge would of been if Hurricane Katrina would of been as large and strong as Typhoon Tip ?

This is an apples and oranges comparison. Ideal conditions must prevail for a storm to reach that size. Chance of that happening in the lower gulf / caribbean is remote.

Storm damage is not just determined from the size of the storm and its peak core windspeed either. A HUGE factor is how fast the storm moves. What's the chance of a system developing, bombing into the 800's, developing an elliptical windfield with TS winds extending 500 nm from the center and moving due north at 35 mph? Extremely remote. Better pray it never does happen especially to NOLA.

Let's put it this way, I don't think anyone would have been around on highway over passes to be saved IMO. 🙁

It would be funny to watch dumba*s news correspondents try to report it live though!
