Hello everyone,

I just received a 8KDA series motherboard and AMD cpu from NewEgg.com.

I took out all of the pieces I had in a working Intel machine, put the mobo in the case, and installed the CPU, ram, cards, etc.

When I turn on the power, I can see the power going to all of the fans, and the mobo comes up immediately with an "FF".

I believe I hear the SATA hard drive get power, but I never hear it spin up. The monitor never clicks on like it's getting input from the computer. Everything just sits there, fans running.

What should I do? Any and all help is GREATLY appreciated, I just have no idea where to start.

Thanks for your time,

Kevin

Thanks, it simply says 'Boot Attempt' and there is no troubleshooting at all.

Does anyone have any insight into this? I was reading other posts on the Epox mobos and I have read it should cycle through the codes before landing on 'FF'? Is that true?

Thanks,

Kevin

Hm...try another vid card. Don't have my mobo in front of me, but it's basically the same board I believe and I think it says FF all the time, since that is the last boot step. Maybe problem with your monitor as well.

Well, the monitor is the one I'm using right now.. and the video card was working just a week ago. I can't hear the hard drive spin up like it would, so that's the step it's not getting to.
