Epox kt266A problems

Hey I am building a new Athlon XP system and am having a bit of trouble.... When I assembled everything and powered up, NO SIGNAL went to the monitor! I switched vid cards... no luck. I removed every pci card, just leaving the AGP vid card... no luck. I tested the Vid card on another system... nothing wrong with it. I removed the heat sink and inspected the processor... no cracks or chips, and it otherwise looks perfect. That leaves the RAM chip and the EPOX motherboard. DDR RAM chips hardly ever are defective, so do you think the motherboard is???? Thanks!!

What does the error message on the LEDs say? Read that and look it up in the manual - that should give you a clue. Reseat the RAM, reset the CMOS and try again.

I thought that the CMOS code would give me a clue, but it doesent always stop on the same hex. Also, the ones it stops on aren't error codes... theyre just normal startup items like initializing this or that or coping the Bios to RAM. The fact that I get different codes sometimes says that the board might have peaced out, but i REALLY don't want to do an RMA from newegg right now.. any ideas?

From reading many Epox threads in anticipation of receiving mine - Many are attributing problems to the Ram needing to be seated VERY firmly until you here that crunchy sound if you know what I mean.

I had same annoying experience a few days ago,
but I solved it with clearing CMOS jumper.
That might be work for your problem.
And don't forget the power switch is located in right place.
That looks very subtle,however,Epox mobo doesn' boot with this problem in my experience.

You tried the board outside of case as well?....also try holding the power button in for like 10 secs,I had to do this on mine since my new PSU(I got months ago) had not been used at all ,it fired up after about 7 secs and since then boots up straight away.
