I think the abit has onboard raid as well. Epox Mobo is good too.

I've been reading reviews for awhile now. The Epox is damn good. and for the price, it kicks major ass.

But DON'T buy from MixPC, they have a horrible Rating.

Pricewatch just listend Newegg.com who is well rated and is shipping it for free! $129 for the board and $0.01 for Fedex Saver shipping.

Killer deal.

I just bought this, and a Duron 650 from Directron for $52.04

$180 for a 900mhz system isn't bad!

My ram couldn't support 160fsb@cas2. The fsb can go up to 160 with this board but you need mosel. i got it for $125 when it was first released.

expos mobo is suck. before i think expos is great mobo untill i get abit KT7A-RAID. than i find out expos real suck. for what i mean is same set up every thing everything are identical excepted the mobo. but abit get low temp than expos by 4c. because on abit socket get so close to the grill of the cases . there for it get extra cool from the out side. expos socket place almost in the midle of the board there for the heat exchange is not that good and temp is go up very eassyly.;) remmember most site when they review the mobo they don't place them in the case so they don't probly notice this much.

Thanks for the warning on Expo MB's dingdong but the post was for EPOX MB's though and I've heard some very good stuff about them.

From what I've read/heard, tempeture readings between two different socket A motherboards are never comparable because the temperture thermostats are place in different places depending on manufacturer. So the argument that Abit MBs run cooler than Epox mbs might not be valid.

Hey dingdongdingdong, try using sentances and we might be able to decipher what you're talking about. And just so you know, the name is ePox, not Expo. The Expos are a baseball team in Montreal (Vlad Guerrero is incredible).

Ahh well you only had to say so. My father is a Frenchman, so I'm used to odd English :) I'll pick on you when I learn a second language, ok?

Bah,

The extra heat that purportedly occurs doesn't seem to be a problem for me and for a price of 40 bucks less (add ten bucks more and you can get yourself a chip for god's sake) the Epox is a GREAT deal. Check out www.amdzone.com and on there message boards, you'll see that the only problem with this board is the difficulty in running at 133mhz with the higher clocked chips (though there's work around). Just my two cents, but I'd hardly think the reasons dingdong gave justify spending that much more on a board. Personally Abit's gotten into people's head's so much as the "premier" overclockers board that they're getting away charging an arm and a leg for there newer boards. It's ridiculous.

Just of note for you guys.

Epox customer support beats Asus and ABit HANDS DOWN. Epox shipped me a free BIOS when I needed one, they answer their emails same day.

I'm stuck here with a dead A7V because Asus doesn't actually READ their support emails. They just delete them (serious!)

I've sent 10 emails over 3 months and not heard so much as a peep. Even when I spread crap about them in front of 100,000+ readers... They just don't give a $hit.

Epox has always made me happy. *shrug*

Their 8KTA3 (Kt133a) is also available as the 8KTA3+ which has the HighPoint ATA-100 RAID controller on it too.

I say sell me your Epox board then. I'm building a second system. Shoot me a PM if you still have it.
Btw, post a Sandra picture of your 1.4+ gig system there big guy. A 200 mhz discrepancy doesn't mean the board is the problem, no offense, but either that Abit is not that high or that Epox isn't that low. ANYONE would agree that 200 mhz difference you "claim" seems kinda fishy.

i don't know evry time i pum it more than this setting it lock up don't allow me go more than that (8.5x133)
but abit KT7A-Raid allow me to set at 10.5x133. some time i can boot up at 10x137 and run fine for 5 hours but that is very rare. i don't know why . can you tell what happen? I also try 11x13 it bootup and load win2000 for while than get blue. i think may be my power supplies is max . i have 2 dvd drive 2 cd room. four fatty hardrive. 2ethernet card one platinum 5.1 and one I/O controler card. 2 92mm antec fan under clock to 5 volt and 3 60mm fan. ps is 300w. before i have ermax 530wat but now no longer belong in my system. so what do you guy think 300w is enought for my spec;) i have week1 year 2001. but most ppl said this chip are bad can not overclock very well
