Epox Experiences

I'm a little disappointed with Epox. If anyone cares here's a run down of my experiences:

Bought motherboard (4PDA2+) early January. I put my PC together only to find that the computer wouldn't post. I took everything apart and tried to boot with the basics, still no post. I installed the processor in a different PC so I knew it wasn't that. Contacted Epox via e-mail and about a week later recieved a RMA number.

I shipped the motherboard to Epox and they recieved it on January 20th. They said their turn-around time is ~1 week, but I just got it back today (Feb 3. making it 2 weeks).

I put the PC back together and everything's good. Get XP installed but the chipset and driver CD won't run...

Little frustrated, but it's easy enough to get them from their site... wrong... they've got the slowest site ever. I'm on a T3 connection and it took 2 hours to download a 30 MB file.

I've built a lot of computers using many different motherboard brands (MSI, ASUS, Abit, DFI) and this is the first dead MB i've ever gotten. Plus i've never recieved a non-working chipset CD. Just a little frustrating.

Thought I'd just share my experiences.

i don't buy epox anymore, since i bought my epox 8rda+ nforce 2 board. I received it , and hooked it up, and it ran for a decent amount of time, and then the caps on the board all started bulging and leaking. And from what i read, it happened to alot of people with the nforce 2 board. So from now on, no more epox for me. There's plenty of other companies out there.

anandtechrocks, I also had "issues" with the 4PDA2+ board. For me it was the first board I set up that had 10 mounting holes, instead of 9. I had more trouble initially with this board than any previous one, regardless of manufacturer. That is, until I figured out that the 10th hole was the key. Once I installed a 10th standoff all the issues disappeared. The 4PDA2+ grew to be one of my favorite boards. FWIW it's in use today in a buddy's system, and except for a casefront USB issue (case-related, not board-related IMO) it's working great.

2 weeks? That's it? Consider yourself lucky! My 8RDA+ boards have taken 3, 4, and 5 weeks for RMA. I can't even get tEpox's website to load most of the time.
