Attempting to build a relatively cheap system for multimedia, multitasking, and some gaming (I don't care about setting benchmark records or the best fps rates) that will not require an upgrade for more than a year. Here's what I have picked out so far:
Athlon 64 3200+
Crucial PC-3200 2x512MB Ballistix
OR OCZ PC-3200 2x512MB Platinum R2
ATI All in Wonder X800xl
Western Digital 3.0 Gbps 250MB 7200RPM 16 MB Caviar SE16 (maybe 2 for raid 1 setup)
Pioneer 16X DVR-110D
Thermaltake Swing VB6000SNS mid-ATX case
Power Supply?????
monitor, etc. will be recycled from old dell setup.
Is the EPoX a good choice for this set up?
Another important factor for me is ease of use, good manual, and support.
I am getting tired of picking a mobo only to find a hundred complaints and decide it's not the right one. This EPoX seems to satisfy the most people, most of the time.
A recommendation for a power supply would help, too!
Also if you care to comment on any of my other choices, feel free. I am still open to other options.
