my main problem: i have a sandisk cruzer mini 256MB usb drive. when i plug the usb drive in the contents window pops up like normal, but as soon as i try to move anything to or from the drive everything just freezes, forcing me to restart. epox, nvidia, and sandisk don't have any mention of this, has anyone else had or heard of this problem?
the system is:
amd64 x2 4200
epox 9npa+ultra
ocz value 1gb x2
wd 250gb sataII
ati aiw x600 pro pci-e
win xp sp1/latest nforce 4 drivers
the drive is an usb 2.0 device and works just fine on my old intel 500/900mhz pcs with usb 1.1.
the other question that i have is, sata drives are supposed to be "hot swappable", and that's why that damned infernal windows insists on placing sata drives in the "removable hardware" system tray icon, right? well, i wanted to know if they really ARE hot swappable, is it safe to plug an native sata hd's power cable/transfer cable in while the pc is on? what about native ide drives that have an sata bridge?
