Ok so recently came upon a problem with sound and my system. I run the 9npa ultra mainboard and an audigy 2zs soundcard...worked fine for 8 months however a few days ago what started happening is that when I enter into a map of Call of Duty 2 the sound will stutter like mad and then the motherboard will make a tone and the sound will stop. If I exit the game windows sounds will start again.
The onboard audio will stutter and sometimes the tone will sound but it won't cut out like the creative card.
Wondering what the tone indicates? possible hardware failure? I am going to try it with a clean drive soon but tried unintsalling and reinstalling most everything.
Any suggestions on the tone would be appreciated.
