Epox 9NPA+ SLI e-SATA?

Recently built my new rig with the motherboard in the topic and I'm VERY happy with it. All that's left is applying my Zalman VF900-Cu and Thermaltake copper BGA ramsinks to my 7900GT, and a Scythe Ninja with a Silverstone FM21 on it. I plan to post reviews of various components/overclocking results once I'm well (I've got the flu - fun!).

But anyhoo. I have an external enclosure that supports e-SATA and USB2 connections for a storage/backup/portable drive. Apparently, the NF4 chipset SATA connectors do not support e-SATA, though I had the drive running off it for a while. But that was quickly disconnected due to the irrecoverable (almost, had to low level format and reinstall windows) failure of the boot sector of my boot drive, connected to the same chipset. Whether or not it was related, I don't know. But I don't wanna take any more chances. 😉

The Sil3231 chipset SATA connectors apparently fully support e-SATA, but the drive will not be detected on them. All drivers are installed, but the drive will not be seen by the BIOS or Windows (it's seen by both on the NF4 chipset). The instruction manual that came with the board is VERY comprehensive, but overlooks e-SATA completely. I've contacted Epox support and they've been nothing but useless.

Anyone have the same or similar chipset, and know how to get e-SATA to work on it? I've really tried everything to my knowledge, but no dice. Any help or suggestions would be much appreciated. Thanks guys. 🙂
