EPoX 8RDA3+ FSB Confusion.

I am a bit confused.

The specs for this board say it has a 400MHz FSB, but all of the reviews say they can only get it to run at ~233MHz.

Am I missing something? I admit, I'm not up-to-speed with this stuff, but it doesn't make sense to me.

Thanks in Advance.

400MHz reflects the DDR FSB, which means 2 x 200MHz = 400Mhz FSB.

So if the reviews say that it could "only" run at ~233MHz (at stock Vdd I presume?), it means DDR 466MHz FSB = darn impressive!

Hope this helps!

Only place I've even found it listed so far is at http://www.censuspc.com and they are taking pre-orders (To arrive at the end of this month or early next month). I emailed and asked if I could cancel the order if I changed my mind while waiting and they said it would be fine and they won't charge till it ships. See if anything as tempting comes out until then.

So,

Just to clear up any confusion on my part...

I currently have an Epox EP-8K7A. The specs state that the FSB is 266MHz. So this is the DDR FSB and the FSB that talks to the CPU is really 133, correct?

Thanks Again.

Well, kind of. The CPU and NorthBridge do actually talk at 266MHz, it is 133 double-pumped. All listings in the BIOS will be in the non-double-pumped form of 133MHz etc

Confused
