Here is the link people. It is already available in the UK from what i understand the Nforce2 version available currently in the US does not have Soundstorm. It is about 18 pounds cheaper than the Asus A7N8X. Do you think I should go ahead and pick this one up over the Asus?

Epox Specification of the 8RDA+
Isn't this the one slated to be launched around December end?

I prefer Epox over Asus anytime and the price difference also helps, however if you`re not sure then wait for the big nForce2 roundup review by Evan which should be here real soon.

Thanx Mem. Will do. I have one question. Epox seems to have different spec sheets of the 8RDA+

Here it says that the 8RDA+ has Realtek Audio.
Epox USA

while here it says that the 8RDA+ has the Nforce2 APU
Epox UK

Can someone please clear this up?

Thanx

I would get the EPoX over the Asus for sure.
the extra money you spend on the Asus is only for the name....

My 8RDA+ is on the way...$102 @ Mwave! As far as sound...this has been done over and over and over. BOTH the Asus and Epox use the Realtek chip to interface the APU...they both use the APU for sound. You need a codec to interface the SB, and handle the output port configuration. Epox just uses a different port configuration than the Asus, and they may or may not have gotten Soundstorm certification from Nvidia. The board does use the MCP-T, and also has Firewire.

Thanx Insane and Yield. I was a lil worried because the pictures on newegg showed 6 ports for sound on the Asus while the Epox only had 3.

If I'm not mistaken, the Epox uses the line in and microphone ports for 6 channel sound, whereas on the Asus you can have the inputs and 6 channels connected simultaneously since they have the extra connectors. It's not a big deal for me since I won't be using those ports. From the manual:

In 2-CH mode, supports Mic-In (pink), Line-In (blue) and Line-Out (green) at rear panel.
In 6-CH mode, supports Center/Subwoofer (pink), Rear Out (blue), Front-Out (green) at rear panel.

I'm kind of bummed they didn't include a bracket for the sound.
I saw it has a header on the motherboard for a line in and microphone, hopefully we can buy a bracket someplace.
I need my line in for my tv tuner...
