Epox 8RDA+ 1700+

I'm ordering this combo with a SLK-800U cooler. Now all I need is the RAM. I just don't know what to get. I have read conflicting messages about the nforce2 boards, especially the Epox, being picky about RAM. I was looking at some low latency 2-2-2-5 Corsair XMS ram but I seem to remember people saying 1) you don't need expensive ram, 2) there are issues with low latency ram.

I want to overclock the 1700+ (the 1.5v DLT3C from SVC) to the max so I want the best ram for the job.

Thanks

I'd go with Twinmos ram using Winbond chips. This has proven to be one of the most reliable combos with the 8RDA+.

Should I go with PC2700 or PC3200? If you know of a good source, please tell me. Thanks.

There are some ads for memory resellers in this thread so I clicked on a couple. One site only had Samsung and Kingston, the other site didn't even list the manufacturers name. Weak!

I'll second this. got mine Here. No problems
whatsoever.

I'll third the TwinMOS.. I have three 8RDA+ systems running 2x 256mb of those at 208 MHz dual channel ddr 🙂

I've got a question of my own, is it worth it two buy two sticks of ram for the dual channel capabilities?

I've not had good luck - I got stick of this. It will not run at 200MHz with another stick of RAM in the system. By itself it's fine, but give it another stick of PC3200 to play with, and the system will not POST.
