EPOX 8NPA SLI s754/mobile s754 3700 Newark

i recently got a hold of a mobile 3700 newark. after i installed it, my system would not boot. now the CPU is in fine working condition, i confirmed it by trying it out in my DFI NF3 250gb, and it booted with no problems.

so i'm guessing that the BIOS is not recognizing the CPU. it's latest from epox's website (12/02/05). i already contacted Epox tech support, but still haven't heard anything yet, and i'm guessing the reply will be something like "the mobile A64 is not a desktop CPU, this board only supports desktops CPU's."

does anyone know of any beta BIOS floating around that might support this board? or any other suggestions that might help get this CPU running that i might have overlooked.

btw: the heatsink i'm using is a XP-90, installed with no problems.

I have a 3000clawhammer mobile running in my DFI NF3 250GB, but I need to set the CPU voltage in BIOS, otherwise the CPU defaults to too low of a voltage(for the lowest mobile speed).

From what I've read, the 8NPA can't set CPU voltage manually except for a .05 increase. So, it doesn't properly run the mobile CPU at the right voltage.

I'm looking into getting 8NPA, but won't until I can get a BIOS that can set the voltage manually like DFI. Maybe if we pray, Oskar Wu will make a BIOS for 8NPA LOL

what a problem you have.i feel your pain.i too was gonna say the dfi might be your only other choise.has epox said if there gonna come out with a bios to at least get it up and running.what a pain having to sit and look at all the state of the art hardware and not be able to use it.that epox board is such a cool board for 754 fans.i almost bought one but decided to just go 939 and be done with it.i loved my 754 setup.my 939 rig is perfect but not much faster than my 754 rig.i felt leftout on the forums because 90 percent or so it seems run 939.i still kinda miss my 754 rig.i still build 754 rigs for customers who dont want all the expence of the 939 rigs and the run almost as fast.
