Epox 8KTA3 +Pro +AMD Athlon1.4Tbird weird problem.....Help Needed

Hello to everyone,

I have an EPOX 8kta3+ Pro mobo for more than two years and I have the following weird problem, that came up all of the sudden today.I have been using the mobo with no problems since now.I was running an AMD Athlon Tbird 1.4 (133x11.5) just fine, but today the clock speed went down to 122Mhz maximum??????Any ideas why?.Please let me know what is wrong and how can I fix it because I am officially stuck.

first off, a 1400 is 10.5 x 133, so you're overclocking the multiplier?

as well you state max ram is 512, you have 768?

did it freeze and reboot? or just boot up at 122mz one day?
has the bios been redone recently?

you should use aida or sisoft to be sure of settings etc.

problem probably lies with the first question


over time, cpu thermal compound dries out, fans get clogged, dust collects on the board or fans quit, you should check all these things first
