I'm thinking about upgrading soon - probably to the AMD Athlon Thunderbird 1 GHz - and curious what you guys think about the Epox 8KTA3 or Abit KT7-RAID (or any other mobo's for that matter). Just wanted to get some opinions and what better place then here.

I have a Abit KT7, and it has been very stable for me.

From what I have heard MSI are meant to be "leading".

For me, it is a tough decision...

i have a epox 8kta3 and im very happy.
i dont think you have to wait for msi. :)

the 8kta3 is rock stable and has a 3 phase power solution.

www.hardocp.com :

"One big kicker here that you have seen us promote with one other KT133A series board is 3 PHASE POWER. While it is not really advertised in any of the literature I have seen from EPoX, it seemed from the MOSFET layout on the board that it was in fact equipped with the feature. A quick email to EPoX confirmed that the board did in fact have a 3 Phase Power Solution. To put it in a nutshell, the 3PPS allows the board to deliver a cleaner amperage to the higher rated AMD CPUs. This may in fact translate to 3PPS boards being able to last through a greater number of CPU upgrades than others. This has yet to be proved, but this is something I would take into consideration when buying a new mainboard for AMD processors. Also, EPoX has gone that extra mile in cooling the MOSFETs, as they have mounted them with their own heatsinks on the board."

I hope the K7T Turbo blows:D

I can't seem to decide which motherboard to pick up right now. DDR is too expensive and I'm waiting on the Turbo but I've been waiting all too long. I think the KT7A looks pretty good right now.

Go for the Abit KTA Raid. Shipping everywhere now. Got mine last week. This board is rock solid stable and very fast.
