I'm thinking of upgrading my motherboard and processor, and I'm thinking of getting an Epox 8KTA3 with a Duron 1gz. My question is will these work with my old 250 watt power supply?

most likeley: yes. Unless the 250W is a total piece of junk, it should work fine. Check if it has rated output (in Amperes) for the +5, +3.3 and +12 V rails on the power supply. I'm not sure what the bare minimum is, but check AMD's website for what the Athlon/Duron chips require. For a Duron 1000, it's pretty low...

You could try it and see. A quality 250 W power supply will probably handle a 1 gig Duron fine. You may have some stability issues if it is a cheaper generic model. If you do need to upgrade your power supply, I suggest taking a look here for a pretty decent 300W power supply that is rated at 200W to the 3.3 and 5 volt rails for $33 delivered. I have the Sparkle 350 Watt unit and it works great.
