Epox 8kta3+/950 Combo for $259

Hey, just came back from fry's. They have the epox 8kat3+ mobo and a Tbird 950 for $259 bucks. Beats lowest pricewatch by around 30 bucks.

ugh, no Fry's around me in Louisiana. That deal is very good though. I cannot find the EP8KAT3+ raid version anywhere online. oh well

That's because EPoX pulled the 8kta3+. They aren't making anymore. The Highpoint controller they use (along with most of the other kt133a MBS) causes alot of problems.

Ok, that makes sense... no wonder I can't find it anywhere. So if I want a Mobo with raid controller, I should get one with the Promise controller? I don't plan on using RAID, but would like the 4 extra ATA/100 device connectors.

In today's paper (3/23/01) Fry's has the EPoX 8KTA3+ with 1Ghz Athlon-C (266Mhz) Processor
for $299.
