So many people have been having problems with the C1 post error that I thought I would share my experience. I just built an new computer on the 8kha+ with 768 MB of Crucial RAM. I got a C1 post error the first time I tried to boot so I tried every combination of my 3 sticks of memory I could until I smelled something burning and almost burnt my hands on the memory. Thats when I checked out the forums to see if anyone else was having problems. Turns out A LOT of people are having this problem. Some said they just pushed unusually hard and it finally seated properly, so I tried pressing as hard as I dared. No good.
I then decided I had better check again to make sure I was seating it properly (which I thought I had done). I figured if it was locking in place- which it was- I must be putting it in correctly. Trust me, I know the memory was locking in. I looked closely at the slot in the memory and it wasn't lining up with the post. I turned it around, pressed it down just like before, and everything worked fine. I'm not sure why or how the memory was able to lock in place backwards, but it did.
I have another 8kha+ board I bought in late October that has different memory slots then my new board. I'm not sure if there is someting wrong with the latches or the general design of the new slots, but be careful. You know what happens when you ASS U ME things!
