I got the Epox 8KHA+ refurb from newegg. it looks new and has a "N+" on the bios.
I get a problem, the system will hang if i go into the BIOS screen to check the CPU temp/fan speed (it will not response to any key after i go into that screen for a few seconds. But the pressing the Num Lock key will correctly light up-> not hang??).
And if i boot in dos (for format C:, etc) and i restart the computer, is it right that it will not continue on the boot process (it will not go to check the primary, sec....drive)? It stop there, and i can only press "del" to go into the BIOS. (is it some kind out of the design?)

I also got a few times when i reset, there is only a blinking cursor on upper left and a blue thick line on bottom. Look hang up to me.

Thanks. Is it a bad board? If i need to RMA back to newegg, i have to act fast... 30days are up.

I have not format and install any windows into it yet. Just finished formated the HD.
config.
AMD XP 1800+, 80G HD from CompUSA, Evercase and GTS-V from Newegg, Crucial 256MB DDR

Where is your CPU fan connected? Is it in the labeled CPU jack?

If so, and it still hangs, try powering the cpu fan from an adaptor (because you don't want to run an Athlon without working cooling. It will not shut itself down for thermal protection. There might be a fan rpm monitoring problem or current draw problem that is causing problems.

Reading the rest of your problems, though, it really doesn't sound good for the board. You might want to save some hassles and get Newegg to swap boards.
