Im seriously thinking of getting a T'Bred A 1800+ to replace my Palomino 1800+ and hopefully ensuring a better overclock.

I know how to increase the FSB but I cant find a PCI/AGP bus lock on this board. Does it have a 1/5th Divider?
I've also heard that with some T'Bred cores that a few motherboards can unlock certain multipliers... Anyone know if this one can?

Without physically unlocking the T'Bred, Id be restricted to FSB increases only and therefore wide open to instability through my aging PCI cards.

Any other suggestions? (except buying a new motherboard :))

The 8HKA+ has the KT266a chipset which only supports a 1/4 divider. The 1/5 divider is a feature of the KT333, I'm quite sure.

Also check your revision number, 2.0 is the latest and does the t-breds.

Great mb by the way but move up to a 333 or 400 cs if you want to run real fast fsb's.
Lots of good info at amdmb.com too.

If you get your XP1800+ from Newegg I believe it will be a rev(B) 166FSB and some people are running this chip at 1800MHz. The 8KHA+ will do 150FSB (75MHz AGP) (38MHz PCI) and this could give you 12x150=1800MHz just get some good RAM. Can anyone here confirm this...???

mybad, the 1800+ (B)'s are not out yet but if you get the latest AIUGA stepping it should do 144FSB at 12.5 and this will still give you 1800MHz. Don't push vcore beyond 1.7 volts and use a good HSF.

my 8kha+ rev 2.0 was doing 167 fsb with my good old agoia 1600xp.

Now it's doing 140 fsb with my new 2400xp. it worked at 150 but I didn't want to push the vcore.
