Sytem Spec.
Duron 800@931 (7.0 X 133 FSB)
Epox 8KHA+
Kingmax 256MB PC2400 DDR RAM
MSI 815 GF2 GTS 32MB DDR RAM (non-O/C)
SB live (on slot 5)
400W PSU.

Running drivers Det 23.12, VIA 4in1 ver 4.37, Epox on latest bios, VGA bios 3.15.01.02.00 & DirectX 8.0.

Probs.
1. There is artifacts (snow like) during boot up...up till after Win98se logo. Desktop graphic is fine.
2. When playing 3D games like FIFA 2002, the snow appear again.

The std VIA-Nvidia probs/solution has been try but same probs. Things I hv tried: -
1. RAM timing is "normal" in bios.
2. Latest drivers. I also tried Det 23.11, 23.11, 23.88....
3. Enabled/Disabled V-sync.
3. Up monitor refresh rate to 85 Mhz.
4. No IRQ conflict.

Any idea ? TQ.

I`ve the Epox 8KHA+ & GF2 Ti so similar to yours, anyway go into bios and disable all video shadowing, also disable system bios cacheable, and I`ve my AGP aperture size set to 64mb.Also make sure you`ve AGP as main card in bios not PCI.

See if that helps, btw you should be able to use turbo settings ,I can with my Crucial ram.

One more thing this has nothing to do with the above problem but since you are using SB Live card rather then onboard sound you might as well disable Midi and Gameport address as well.

Last thing you can try the card in another PC and see if you get the same problem.

Mem,
No go.

1. Set the AGP Aperture to 64MB...worst. Back to 128MB.
2. Under VIA 4in1, the AGP is "Turbo".
3. All cache...the bios, VGA bios & VGA RAM disabled.
4. AGP boot up in bios.

I do a swap from GF2 MX200 to GF2 GTS. Uninstall & reinstall VIA 4in1 & Det. W/ the MX200...graphic is no probs. The machine run fast & stable...just this little probs is bugging me. I expected a bit more from GTS than MX200.

Anyone ?

One more thing you can try, if you set your CPU to default speed do you get the same problem with your GTS?

OK. When the CPU is at default (8.0 X 100 FSB)...the artifact gone !! Damm, does this mean I can run 133 FSB ? I hv no probs running 145 FSB on MX200 card. GTS supposed to be better & MSI 815...any idea anyone ?

Hmmm so it seems to be overclocking problem with your CPU which is not my strong point, you could try 6.5x133mhz FSB since your CPU is unlocked and see if you can run it at that or any other 133mhz FSB speed without the problem.Or play with the AGP settings in bios if you feel fine doing so, nothing else I can think of unless maybe post in the CPU,overclocking forum might help.
