Hello, I have a friend building my system and the problem he is having is that when the FSB is set at 100 it boots good. When he sets it too FSB 133 the problems arise and the system will not function properly.
Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

A little info: xp 1600, enlight power supply 300w, crucial 2100 ddr memory, sblive, v3 3000, windows 2000.

Specifically, when you set the FSB to 133, the system won't boot sometimes, sometimes it will post and let you into the bios, but the minute you try and move around, it just like shuts down and blanks the screen. I have tried every possible bios configuration, reseting the bios, removing the battery, you name it. It is a NEWEGG board and the static bag was only closed up by a piece of scotch tape. I'm wondering if this isn't a used board. Any help would be good

Try getting a more powerful psu, AMD recommends the Enlight 340W psu as meeting the minimum requirements. Your 300W just may not be putting out the right voltage.

<< U have to set the jumper on the mobo to 133 FSB. >>

We have a winner... Wind has got it! Same thing happened to me because I was in a hurry and didn't read page 3-5 in the manual where it talks about jumper JCK1. The default is set to 100MHz and dictates the PCI/AGP dividers.

Done that. All the jumpers are set correctly. If I set the jumper to 133 FSB, sometimes it won't even post, and if it lets me into the bios after I move around a bit, it just turns the screen black.

After a while of messing around with it, I can't even get the computer to post now. It will just give me the "FF" code on the LED and sit there. I have removed the battery, reset the cmos several times, put in new memory and video. What else to do besides RMA that piece of crap.

make sure the heatsink is fitted properly, this is often the cause of problems such as yours.

lol, i think some of the posters here don't even read the post they are replying to. they just ramble on about something in order to improve their post count. anyways, sounds like you might need a more powerful psu. im not sure though, because if it is posting at 100fsb, it should still post at 133. a weak psu wouldn't allow it to post at all at any speed. also, don't jump to conclusions by calling it a piece of crap. the 8kha+ is a great board, but some are bound to have problems.
