EPoX 8KHA+ and POST problems

faulty BIOS, weak power supplies...there are a lot of posts about softboot problems with this board. I have a replacement Hyundai BIOS chip from EPoX but no chip extractor.

Before I change the chip does anybody have a definitive word on what the problem really is with POST and lockups.

Could it be a power supply problem? I have an ENERMAX 330W 51 series P/S part of the ENERMAX file server case I have (very similar to the ANTEC SX 1030.

I'm using the Enermax 330w with the 8KHA+ and a 1.4 Tbird with no probs. Not running multiple HDD's or anything, but I've got 5 80mm case fans, 1 80mm CPU cooling fan, GF3, 16X DVD, 12x10x32 TDK, and the usual assorted goodies. 5v rail is steady around 4.91v so the power supply should'nt be a problem for you unless you're running a lot more stuff than I am. I have the K bios chip, and flashing to 11/02 took care of the reboot issues I was having (running Win98se, but installing XP this weekend!). Good luck with the new chip - hope everything works out for you because this really is a SWEET board.
