This is my first jump from socket A.

I have an EPOX 8KDA3J rev 2.x

Bios....11-30-2004.

Sempron (PALERMO) 3100

CPU is running around 40 c.

GeForce 4 4200 AGP

All default settings ( I believe HTT is set at 4)

Crucial PC-3200 512 mb double sided.

Ram was 3-3-8-3 2T

350 watt PS with 4-pin 12 v + connector, all the voltages (3.3-5.0-12.0) are a bit over default checked with a multi meter while running BF1942.

I was running the above in an AN35 ULTRA with 2500 Barton @ 11x200=2200 mhz with no problems.

I am using 2 sticks of single sided generic PC 2700 256 mb ram running at 166 right now and it runs fine.

.................................................................................................................................
I first tried my double sided Crucial PC 3200 512 mb memory and I couldnt get my harddrive to format to load XP PRO.

It gave me stop errors "IRQ_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL", "PFN_LIST_CORRUPT" it would blue screen and tell me it needed to stop tp keep from damaging my computer.
..............................................................................................................................

Thats when I tried the PC 2700 and XP loaded fine and I loaded and played Battlefield 1942 with no problems.

Do you have a suggestion on what kind of ram I should buy for Nforce 3 or newer motherboards?

I want to run 1 gig.

EDIT"

I updated the bios, the Crucial still wont work, it boots up but I opened EVEREST and it got a blue screen and rebooted.
Put the PC-2700 back in and it works fine

EDIT:2
Set the Crucial PC-3200 to 166 3-3-3-8 2T and it works fine?

SORRY zebo, I just saw your no PMs:eek:
:D

Regards.

Richard.

Had the same board for about 1/2 year now. I've never had a problem with memory and I've successfully used:

-Patriot XBLK?? PC3200 (the TCCD stuff) 2x512
-OCZ Value VX PC3200 (the UTT stuff) 2x512
-Mushkin Level II PC3200 (BH5) 2x256

Edit: also used some generic w/ Infineon -6 chips w/out problem.

What volts to crucial? Try 2.7 vdimm and "load optimzed defaults" ... or 3-3-3 1T. I'm on vacation so I may be sparse... this sounds too much like work.

thanks for the pm guy about your issue.

here is basically what that PFN error means. http://www.osronline.com/article.cfm?id=334

basically i would say that the stick of ram is bad.

when you switched over to this new mobo and cpu its highly possible that you zapped the ram.

OR

The mobo is bad and wont run PC3200 properly

OR

The memory controller on that CPU is so bad that it can handle 200mhz FSB.

personally i would rma the ram and the cpu just to make sure your covering your basis.

Typically IRQ not less than or equal to means 1) bad ram 2) ram thats overclocked to high.

rma the ram see what happens if you dont want to do both cpu and ram.
