Epox 8KDA3j AC'97 Sound Problem

Ok, I was using the built-in sound on my Epox 8KDA3j for a few months and then one day... it just stopped working. So I uninstalled and reinstalled the drivers... nothing. Tried old drivers, new drivers... nothing. Upgraded the BIOS... nothing. Does anyone have any ideas?

Whenever I play with the sound utility, I can get the speakers to make a popping/clicking noise which makes my suspicious. I plugged in a USB sound device, and it works fine.

I just can't figure it out!

Not the speakers... not the cord... because they work with the usb audio thing.
When I do "Mute all" in the sound config, the speakers "pop", so I'm assuming the connector is okay.

It sounds to me like you have a hardware failure with the onboard sound. Does device manager say it's fine? If there's still no sound I'd assume it died.
