C1 is said in the manual as being 'auto detection of onboard DRAM and cache'.

I try to boot up the system and it just incessently beeps at me and displays 'C1' as the error on the mobo readout. there is no video signal. This just happened randomly the other day. No idea why. The most recent alterations i made to the machine was to add a teac 8x4x32 CD-RW and load the most recent windows 2000 SP2. Otherwise this machine had been happy running for at least 5 months. Those last alterations were made 2 weeks ago, and its been working like a champ up until a day ago.

Here is my setup:

epox 8k7a
duron 800Mhz with volcano II
2x 128MB PC1600 DDR ram (crucial)
20gig 7200 maxtor in ide 1
generic 32x cd-rom + teac 8x4x32 CDRW on ide 2
generic floppy in FDD
Voodoo3 2000 PCI in slot 3
3com etherfast XL in slot 2
microsoft intellimouse in usb port, and generic keyboard in ps2

what the hell?
I've taken out and reseated the pc1600 DDR ram, no result.
I've cleared the CMOS - no result
I then tried the power loss recovery - again no change.

the only esults when i power up: long unending beeps with 1 second intervals, and the error 'C!' on the board. Any suggestions? What do i need to do if I end up having to try to rma this board to newegg?

if you are attaching a printer it does not like to cold boot while attached to a printer that is on
