Epox 8K7A - Win2k ALWAYS finds new hardware - VIA BM DMA Channel

I just did a total reinstall of Win2k Pro SP2, and I'm having the same
problem I had last time. Don't know what I had to do to get it to go
away. After installing the VIA 4in1 drive (4.37 this time), every time I
boot I get this:

Found New Hardware Wizard

This wizard will complete the installation for this device:

VIA BM Ultra DMA Channel

etc.

It's already installed. What's up with this?

I'm not sure I should have installed the VIA 4in1 in Win2k, but I did
want the IDETool utility and AFAIK, that's the only way to get it. I'm
not using onboard sound.

Thanks for any help.

<< I had the same problem. Use the 4.35 drivers. >>

I have the 4.37 and the 4.35 drivers. Have the 4.32 drivers, too. Don't know what I installed the first time, but it was probably the 4.35 and I had that problem. I finally got it to go away the other day by forcing Win2k to seek for all compatible drivers. It found one somewhere called oem3.inf. I let it load that and it was thereafter apparently happy enough. It stopped sending up the "Found New Hardware" screen every boot. Somebody screwed up.
