I want to know how hot my 1.2Ghz Tbird is on Epox 8K7A (with Tt Volcano II HSF), but there are too many sensors on MBM5 to pick from, which one shows the correct processor temperature?

I am using FanTem-1 for now, but it kept showing 38c, hasn't changed once in 24hours. I have 2nd Temp display set at VIA686B-1 @ 21C, also doesn't seem to change.

What sensors are accurate? my BIOS reports temperature higher and lower than 38c but MBM5 doesn't seem to be accurate at all. anything I should be aware of?

FYI...I chked MBM's faq, and found they had Temp sensor listings for 8KTA3, but no 8K7A yet.

But I used their recommended Via686B2 (on 8KTA3) instead of FanTemp1.
Now it's running @ 34c instead of 38. Cooler is better of course. ;)

Actually, I'm curious as to HOW the CPU temp is discovered. My old ABIT KT7E (since replaced by the 8KTA3) had a little thermal probe, but the EPOX doesn't. Are they using an on-board thermal sensor in the CPU ala Intel??
