I had to RMA my board+CPU+RAM BUT the support guy strongly recommended getting a new vid card because of recent problems they had with TNT2. I am pretty sure it was a mobo issue as after about a day full of errors(apparantly heat related) it wouldn't even power on. Has anyone heard of problems with the epox 8k7a and TNT2?

Dunno but I am the V770 god ;) I have one and have had like a billion problems with it so I can pretty much guide you through any problem you run into.

Sweet, when My replacement mobo gets here I may just have to contact you, I think its a bunch of crock though, How on earth does a video card cause a mobo to screw up so bad. I just hope my replacement is problem free

I returned the board and CPU and the works, I doubt the heasink was the problem as it would crash at CPU temps under 50C once even at 43C(even with the innacuracies with mobo readings it is still to low). Not to mention the mobo died completely in the end. It was really weard, it would power up to a black screen and a cursor and then after I cleared the cmos it wouln't even power up. I think it was a defective mobo or something that caused the mobo to fry. I just hope the replacements come soon and they don't give me an further problems. I also bought a Taisol low profile copper base heatsink (small but its approved to 1.4 ghz by AMD and I don't intend to overclock)

Let me know if you have more problems. This system's my first build....but thankfully it didn't give me any problems whatsoever. I would've been stuck for days if one component goes wrong on me, so I think I'm just lucky nothing was out of the ordinary.

I really don't think TNT2 could cause a motherboard failure. have you checked your powersupply? maybe it's getting old.

My power supply is a 300W one year old power supply that should be fine, I dunno the brand but I remember buying it for its quality and it is switching. I tried to boot the mobo with another generic 300W brand new one ( not as good as the old one) and it still would not boot. I don't see how a power supply problem would be avertd by blowing a desk fan at a mobo so I am convinced it was the mobo.
