Ok, here's the situation. I have just purchased this Epox 8K7A motherboard. Everything seems to work great except for one nagging issue. It will not do a soft reset. The only way for board to reset is to hit the reset button. Everything else fails. Even after exiting the BIOS, the board should reboot, but all it does is hang. I have to hit the reset button to get the system back up.
I have tried resetting the BIOS to fail-safe defaults. I have flashed the BIOS to the latest version from their website. I don't know what else to do. It's particularly frustrating with Windows 98se, which makes you reboot after every single change!
Anyway, if anybody has any suggestions, I'm all ears. I will also send an email to Epox support for their input.
BTW, I am not overclocking anything...
Here are my system specs...
AMD Athlon 1GHz 266
256 Corsair DDR RAM
Visiontek Geforce2 GTS-V 32MB AGP
SB Live Value
Netgear FA311 NIC
Acer 50X CDROM
Ricoh 8x8x32 CDRW
A1 Electronics 350W Dual-Fan PS
TIA
