EPOX 8K7a problem with driver installation

just installed win2k onto my new epox 8k7a mobo then proceeded to install amd's agp drivers. everything went smoothly then i installed the via ide drivers and i boot back into win2k but it says my ide drives that i have are scsi and i have scsi/raid controllers when they are just ide. not a big issue but i dont know if dma is enabled for these drives. also, i hear you have to install via irq and inf or something drivers as well (part of the 4-in-1)?? here's my system specs:

amd 1.4ghz tbird
epox 8k7a w/ original bios
toshiba 16x dvd
plextor 16x/10x/40x

yeah, win2k reports ata100 ide controllers as scsi. it's no big deal. although i'm not sure what to tell ya regarding your dma question

i think as long as you install the 4-in-1's, you should be set

i thought that you had to install the via 4in1 before the agp drivers

Epox told me there's no need on the 8k7a to install the
4 in 1's since it's the AMD761 chipset, although
I'm aware the SB is Via.

He said only install the AMD Miniport driver on the CD.

Is there something I'm missing? or is there something they're missing.

As to your question, there is a choice in the bios for either Highpoint controller
or Scsi controller.

You might jack with that and see if it straightens it up.

I am getting my Epox 8K7A and 1.2 CPU today. I am going to setup my new system today evening. Could you just let me know is there any special thing/driver I need to install?

I have just installed ME on my 8K7A and will shortly install w2k.
With ME i istalled AMD´s minport driver and also VIA diver pack but not it´s AGP driver.
In ME I colud not activate DMA before the VIA pack, now I can.
Sandra benchmark is around 24000 so it seems be working well.

thanks for the reassurance guys.. but what else do i need to install? i've installed amd's agp stuff as well as via's ide stuff.. there's more i need to install right? two more parts of the 4-in-1 pack? and where can i get em for my epox 8k7a
