dont know what the problem is, im playing sound ok, but when i plug video camera into the record jack i dont get anything when i try to record accept a very small amount of static. when i plug it into the line in jack it plays what it is supposed to over the speakers but i cant record it. is there some driver i need to install in order to get the record jack working? i can play sounds just fine. any help would be appreciated...

BTW - i have no microphone to test with, but im sure the line im putting in the mic jack is working because it works in the line in jack.

Did you set the line in to record and adjust the
volume level in the Volume Control mixer box?

Try this:

Double left click on the volume control, and make sure the mute box isn't checked in the line in mixer control. Bet it is !!

:D

thats one of those stupid things you do and bumble over for hours and when you finally find it you want to kick yourself.

If I understand you correctly...you don't have to
plug into the mic jack to record, you should be able
to record from any input source.
I can record from the CD in, AUX or LINE in and
the MIC in.
You just have to select the input source in the
Record properties box in the mixer, and adjust
the volume.
