EPOX 8k7A Motherboard DMA troubles???

I have the system setup like so. Primary channel is for the hd. Secondary is split for cdrw and dvd drive. The cdrw is master, dvd is slave. Now i can enable dma on the master (cdrw), but not for the slave. Also whenever i enable dma for the master it gets really messed up and there is data corruption and slow slow cd speeds.
