HELP ME!!!

Today, I got my burner in. So I hooked the hard drive up as Primary Master, the DVD up as Primary Slave, and the burner up as Secondary Master. Now, without the DVD drive connected as a slave, the system works fine and detects both the DVD and the hard drive. However, with the DVD connected as a slave, the computer only detects the CD-RW, and does not detect the hard drive or the DVD. I have tried several cables, so the cable isn't bad. It is hooked up correctly (red on right for everything... correct?). I am stumped. Please HELP!!!!!!

go into your bios, and for your UDMA settings, set them from [auto] to [disabled] for the DVD and the burner.

Make sure that when you switch drives around, that the jumpers on the drive are set correctly. I assume that before you got the CDRW, the DVD was the secondary master. The hard drive may be set as master without a slave (single drive) or the DVD may still be set as master.

Check your jumpers first before messing with the bios.

BTW, Some HDs like WD have two master settings depending on whether or not there is a slave attached on the same channel. Both work, one is faster.
