I got a refurbed 8k7a from newegg, and low and behold the second ram slot is bad, so I can't load up on ram. Other than that the board seems fine as it ran for a week with no problems. I like the board and it was really cheap so I would like to keep it, but Newegg is all out of them and can only offer a refund to me ($31.00). My options are to purchase another board from them, for much more money, or keep this board and use it for a computer for my girlfriend. She wants a dell, but I could whip this guy together in no time and she would be up and running, only thing is that I could never up use the second ram slot if need be (highly unlikely anyways).
Are montherboards something I should risk messing around with if it already has a problem or do you think it will be fine anf no other problems will arise? I'm guessing it will be ok, but I'm no computer genius so I don't know the tendencies of mb's. Any help or input will be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Sean
