Hi I am having some problem with Sblive 5.1 on my epox 8k7A. What do I need to disable and enable in the bios to get it to work properly?
The mobo has a built in soundcard. I wonder about the following settings under "intigrated peripherals" in the cmos setup.
AC97 audio on or off?, onboard legacy audio disable or enable?, soundblaster on or off?, game port on or off? Right now I have all off, does not work well.

Wheete,

I do not have that board, but there should be an option to turn off the onboard audio in the bios. If not there should be a jumper on the board. So you might want to take a look at your manuel. All the other options (onboard legacy audio disable or enable?, soundblaster on or off?, game port on or off)you mentioned will be disabled if your onboard audio is disabled.

Once your onboard audio is disabled, Windows should detect your SBLive card. But before you do all of this, you should download the most recent drivers for the soundcard and VIA 4in1 drivers (4.31 I think are the latest). When windows detects the soundcard, cancel setup, let windows finish booting, and then run the setup.exe program to install the SBLive drivers.

Reboot and it should work...However, the SBLives like there own IRQ and you might want to disable SB16 emulation in device manager (but I have never had a problem).

Hope this helps,
