Epox 8K7A and Miniport driver..... cant boot up

I tried installing the drivers that came on the cd with the epox 8k7a, and when I reboot and it is about to start booting windows it locks up, displays the screen where you press delete to enter bios(which it already showed 10 seconds earlier), only now it has red and green vertical lines on it and freezes. the only way to fix this is restarting in safe mode and uninstalling the drivers.

also, in 3dmark2001 I only get a score of 1000. I assume these problems are directly related.

my system setup, btw:
8k7a
1.4 tbird
gf2ultra

someone pleeease tell me what I am doing wrong here...

Did you install the miniport drivers before the videocard drivers? You should always try to install the AGP drivers before any videocard drivers.

I actually thought I was supposed to install the 4 in 1 drivers, so i installed those, then the vid card drivers, then realized my mistake and installed the miniport drivers... should I try uninstalling all these drivers and reinstalling miniport then vid card?

when you install the 4in1 drivers, DO NOT install the AGP VxD driver. if you did, run the setup again, only select the agp vxd driver, and then choose to uninstall the driver.

You should install the 4 in 1 drivers except the AGP driver, and then install AMD's AGP miniport driver. After those are installed, you should install your video card drivers.
