Epox 8K7A and Athlon XP Overclocking with Multiplier changes?

FullRoast

Anyone know what the details are with the 8K7A (and 8K7A+) and trying to change the multipliers settings on an unlocked Athlon XP?

This site oc-athlonxp indicates that there might be a problem setting the multiplier using the 8K7A board jumpers:

"It seems the German hardware site Planet3d Now! agrees with my theory that the EPoX 8K7A+ is not reading the FID signal from the XP's L1 bridges. Here is a snippet from a German readers e-mail to me: ..."

Has anyone had success with setting the multiplier value for an unlocked Athlon XP on an Epox 8K7A or 8K7A+ ???

Thanks for checking this out. Just curious, do you have an Athlon XP that came unlocked (rumor has it that some of them do) or did you unlock it?

At this point I don't know. I am awaiting FedEx to get my second one. If they are like the AXIA Tbirds then the multiplier was locked only below the target and not above. For example I can run a 1.2 GHz chip with a multiplier of 9 at 10 or 10.5 by simply changing the jumpers on the mobo. I am currently running one at 10 x 135 for 1.35GHz.

I will have time to play with it tonight.
