Epox 8K7A and 1.4ghz woes

Ok here's the deal. This system is really pissing me off. Here is the setup I'm trying to get working.

Epox 8K7A
Tbird 1.4ghz NON-OVERCLOCKED
Vantec CCK-6035D with a TNT fan
Leadtek GF2 Pro
256mb of Crucial PC2100
Promise Ultra100 controller

Ok, the system will post at 1400 fine, and will load up windows, but after about 10 seconds of operation it will just freeze. If I hit the hard reset button, then it will either not do anything or it will give me this screen that says AWARD BOOT BLOCK BIOS PROTECTION, Insert disk into floppy drive or something like that. I pretty much have almost all fo the default settings in the bios so i didn't change anything. The cpu is running at around 114 degrees F, and the mobo is at 77 degrees, so i'm not worried about that. Yes, I did change JCLK1 to postion 2-3 for 266mhz bus, and i left HP3 to be at +.1V for the DDR (which i tried +0, no dice). I also tried adjusting the vcore to +.1V with the same results. I've tried a different video card, and I'm blessed to have a few AMD systems, so I've tried another known working 1.4 tbird both AYHJA batches. I know that the ram isn't bad because I have about 6 sticks of the same ram all working in other systems except this one. I've tried putting the ram in one slot as opposed to the other with the same results. I cannot get this thing runnign smoothly! Any ideas? Thanks.

Is there anything special I need to do in order to get this crap working? Thanks...

Have you tried reseting the bios with the jumper? Remember to unplug your system first. Does your power supply have the right stuff?

forgot to mention, i have an enermex 431 watt, so i'm thinking it isn't a problem. but check this out. i bumped the voltage to 1.95, and it works good now. at the 1.85 setting, it was showing up as 1.81, so i was lookin at what people were saying earlier how the 1.4ghz really needs 1.85 at least, so this was the only way i could get at least 1.85... thanks guys..
