I downloaded the Epox 8K7A 7.05 BIOS from the amdmb.com web site. I then put it on a blank floppy and restarted with the disk in the drive. At the prompt I hit alt+f2 and entered the BIOS flash. The bar filled up like it always does during a BIOS flash, but then the screen went black. I waited for about 5min and nothing happened, so I removed the disk and hit restart. Everytime I boot up it just stays black and nothing happens, no BIOS, no nothing. The 2 number LED on the motherboard gets into the 20s during the boot up, and then stops at the number 2 in the first LED and backward 6 in the second LED. I don't know what to do. Can anyone help me with this problem? Thanks.

Heh, don't fret. I had the same "issue" when I flashed it this morning. What you must do is short CCMOS1 and clear CMOS. Short the pins for a bit, put them back to 1-2 (normal). You should be able to boot now.

Turn off the comp and clear the cmos. If that doesn't do anything you might need to hot flash it or call epox for a new bios chip.

Try turning off and reseting the CMOS via the jumper. In the future, I suggest booting with a floppy then running the bios flash. Also if your MB has a bios flash jumper, you will want to set it to enable flashing...then set it back when finished.

Ok. I was hoping I wouldn't have to clear, but looks like I will. I've flashed before using the same process, so I was at a loss to figure out why this didn't work. I just remembered that I forgot to reset my FSB overclock back to default tho hehe. Oops. Thanks all.

i just went through that fiasco...and clearing the cmos worked. i flashed the shipping bios and got the reboot problems a lot of people mentioned. finally went back to the 6.06 bios and all is well again. i swear i stopped breathing and my heart stopped beating for 5 minutes until i thought of clearing the cmos...

I cleared it and the 7.05s are running fine now. I seem to have more RAM usage at startup for some reason with same BIOS settings. Might just be my imagination tho.
