I have my HDD on the primary master. and my CDRW and CDROM on secondary master and slave. I recently added a new sound card and a zip drive to my computer and plugged it into on of the extra IDE ports, well, my computer doesn't even recognize it. I installed the highpoint drivers and they dont work. And whenever I bootup now my mouse doesn't work so I have to unplug it out of the USB port and plug it back in, in order for it to work. So I have a non working zip drive and a f'd up USB ports.

Any help would be appreciated.

As I told you in the other thread, you can't hook up ATAPI devices, like your Zip drive to the HIghpoint Controller, only HD's. You need to connect your Zip drive to the blue IDE ports....

Oh, I didn't check the other thread for a while. Can I have my HDD on the red IDE port? Or does it have to be primary master?

and why am I having this USB problem now?

also, I forgot to mention, when ever win xp loads it goes to a black screen and just sits there for about a minute and a half, then it'll finally go to the welcome screen and proceed to the desktop.

Yes U can put the HDD in the RAID IDE ports. And put the ZIP Drive in the blue IDE port.
About the USB, Im not so sure about it. Conflict? Have you tried to remove the sound card to check if the USB works? If it does try the sound card in another PCI slot. I really dont hv a clue what it could be.

Good luck!

Do I need to change any bios settings if I move my hard drive to one of the RAID IDE ports to get it to boot right?

I think so. You must change the order, change from HDD0 to ATA100RAID something like that, Im not very familiar to Epox BIOS. But you need to ENABLE the HPT372 controller and the boot sequence.
