epox 8k5a2-- future upgrading?

Currently, I'm running an XP 1600+ (oc'ed to 166fsb*10.5) in it with one stick of 512MB 2700 samsung. I'm wondering about the upgrade wall I will hit in the future. This system will likely go to my 6 y/o son after Christmas (or whenever I build an Athlon64 rig), and, although he won't be maxing it out immediately, he could soon enough into 2004. He plays quite a few games and they're only getting more and more taxing nowadays.

Will I be able to stick anything higher than a 2600+ 266mhz Tbred in there in the future? I'm hoping that a chip upgrade and video upgrade (has a 128MB Ti4200 now) will be the only things needed in about 8-12 months.

You could stick a 166 MHz FSB Barton chip in it. You might be able to use a 200 MHz FSB chip in it as well, but the AGP/PCI is going to be running way out of spec at that high of speed. There's a divider at 166 but not at 200 with this board. It's not a bad board and could last another 1-2 years IMO.
