Got my new mb last night and it smokes! Thanks for the reconmendation.
Anyway, it says that it has 6 channel audio, but it only has 3 minijacks on the back. I thought the rest would be on a pci card. But I didn't get one. Was it supposed to come with it or is this an add-on?
Thanks!

I think only rev 1.2 has 6 channel sound, rev 1.1 and below have something different. I'm testing a 1.0 8K3A and it has crappy 4 channel sound, but it's fast.

I got mine from Newegg. The manual on page 2-2 specifically says built-in AC97 Digital Audio/2 chnnael/6 channel option.

The 3 minijacks on the back are for speakers, line_in, and microphone. There's also a SPDIF digital connector.

Some of the earlier models did not have 6 channels. Read over your manual.

The sound gets low reviews anyways. Apparently it's quite software (CPU) intensive and will steal a lot of clock cycles. You're better off with a Hercules Game Theater XP.

You don't get one jack per speaker. On my 4 speaker w/ subwoofer setup I plug everything into the subwoofer then one cable with a mini-RCA plug plugs into that one jack that says Speakers.

I use a Game Theater XP though.

there's a utility that installs with the drivers that allows you to set the function of the 3 jacks
you set one to front l/r, one to rear l/r and one to center/sub
