I just got the Epox 8k3a+ with the Highpointraid controller on it (HPT370/372) I'm also using WINME. Here is my situation. I installed all the drivers and software that it came with and put my 2 Western Digital 80 gig hard drives up in a JBOD array. That all worked fine according to the installed software. Now when I go and attempt to look for the drives I can't find them in WinME. I was just wondering how am i suppose to see these drives? Do i have to format them first? i just don't see how someone can put stuff on these drives if they can't see them. Your help is appreciated. Thanks

make a windows me boot disk or a get yourself a windows 98 boot disk. Boot of it then simply type "format h:" or "format g:" assuming h or g is the partition on that particular harddrive is the one you want to format using fat or ntfs file system.

windows me can only see fat partitions so no reason for you to format ntfs.

after you type format h: it will ask you what file system you want to use.

you know how to use fdisk so I assume you used a boot disk of some sort instead of typing fdisk at the prompt type format h or g: or whatever your letter your partition was assigned.

caution: when using a boot disk the partitions are sometimes not assigned the same letter as in windows so make sure you are formating the right partition. it should be the same letter assigned in fdisk

if you are formating a primary partition for windows 98 or me install (e.g c:) I believe you have to type format c:/s (not sure on this one)

good luck
