Hey everyone,

I was building my first system today and I had the basic stuff put in to get everything working. but once i turned on my computer, it wouldnt get past the post and it would say C1 on the LED on the motherboard

I looked up the C1 in the manual and it said that there was a problem w/ the RAM. So i proceeded to move the RAM (Crucial PC2100 256 DDR RAM) to the different DIMM slots, which did not work.

I then took RAM from my older computer (128 SDRAM) and tried it in the slots also, which also did not work.

I'm pretty stumped Can anyone help? I'm thinking theres something wrong with the motherboard.

Can anyone help me? Has anyone encountered this problem? Thanks!

Some Epox boards can be tricky fitting the ram,try installing it a few times more,I know somebody that took them 15 trys before he got it seated 100% right,Crucial ram will work fine so it`s either a faulty board or ram faulty or it`s not seated right ,only other thing you can try is clearing the CMOS and see if that helps.

then took RAM from my older computer (128 SDRAM) and tried it in the slots also, which also did not work.

I hope you mean DDR sdram since the Epox 8K3A+ board only excepts that .
